Josie Ball, LCSW
I believe the healing process requires community, connection, and collaboration.
My clients and I talk about having a "village" or "team" of support. That support can look like so many different things. Your village could include me and one supportive friend or family member. Your village could also be a bit bigger with a partner, friends, family, medical providers, or dietitians. I have the privilege of becoming a part of that village as your therapist!
Get to Know Me
I love to read and watch silly tv shows. Am I down to start our session talking about Love Island or a new fantasy book? Obviously.
I love to go on walks and spend time outside. Am I obsessed with dogs? Yes. Am I a horse girl? Maybe.
I love going to a Predators or Titan's game with my husband. Am I a Titan's fan? Unfortunately, I am.
I love going to a happy hour with my girl friends on a patio. Am I basic? Duh.
My Journey to Becoming a Therapist
Growing up, I always knew I wanted a career that felt meaningful. For a while, I thought that meant working with kids—until I realized I’m much better at handing out tissues for tears than for runny noses.
I met with a therapist a few times in high school, and I remember leaving each session feeling unseen and disconnected. I kept thinking, “What if I did this job, but did it differently?” That question stuck with me.
As I got older, my own experiences with trauma, disordered eating, and body image struggles shaped the kind of work I felt called to do. Supporting clients through those same challenges felt deeply personal and important. Through my work with eating disorders, I began seeing how often OCD shows up alongside them. I soon became committed to learning how to navigate and treat OCD.

Why I Do This Work
I love the relationships that I build with my clients.
Whether we work together for years or just a short time, my clients make an impact on my life and I hope I do the same for them. It's really fun seeing clients for years and having "remember when" moments. It's also really exciting seeing a client come in, meet their goals, and feel ready to move forward. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the healing process and I've seen the truth in that, without a doubt.
My Therapy Approach
Therapy with me feels conversational, genuine, and human. I’m not the therapist who just nods silently or gives you generic advice—I’m engaged, I ask meaningful questions, and I’m honest with you in a compassionate way. I value connection deeply, so I take time to understand your world, your relationships, and what actually matters to you. We work together in a way that feels collaborative and aligned with who you are.
